SunAcid Overview

SunAcid, as its name implies, is an acid based concrete stain. It was designed to add permanent color to concrete surfaces.  The color created is a mottled, translucent, natural earthy toned color and it often resembles granite or marble.  The stain reacts with the lime in the concrete so that it becomes a permanent part of the concrete, preventing peeling and cracking.

Features and benefits:  SunAcid is ideal for exterior surfaces because it is colorfast and does not fade in UV light.  SunAcid is a permanent coloring solution.

Where to use it:  SunAcid can be applied in a range of interior and exterior architectural decorative concrete spaces.

How it’s done:  SunAcid can be applied in a variety of ways. The most common application is by spraying the material onto the surface, and then either leaving it as is, or brushing it into the surface with a broom.  The floor must be neutralized and cleaned once the material has reacted.  It’s not always necessary to seal an acid stain, although an unsealed surface could wear and it will not have the same depth of color and bold look as a sealed surface.
