SunEpoxy 100 Overview

The SunEpoxy 100 epoxy coating solution was designed specifically for floors.  SunEpoxy 100 has low viscosity for self leveling and penetration. It has 100% solids for maximum build and durability. For added durability and as filler, it is often used in conjunction with vinyl color flakes or quartz which are broadcasted into the epoxy.  All of these systems provide a seamless, monolithic, non-staining floor. This solution is perfect for those hard to handle applications.

The ideal choices for a broadcast aggregate are the standard 20 – 30 mesh silica, or Monterey type sand or decorative color quartz. To achieve the look of granite or terrazzo, there is the option of vinyl color chips, which come in a range of colors and sizes ranging from 1/8 of an inch, 1/4 of an inch, or 1/2 of an inch. For food processing areas or industrial plants, the best system is a double broadcast floor.  This double broadcast system will provide a smooth and uniform appearance to allow for easy cleanup and smooth movement of rolling carts and other materials.  The texture of the floor’s surface can be varied. Application can provide an aggressive, slip-resistant finish, ideal for wet areas such as showers and food preparation areas.   On the other end of the spectrum, application can also provide an “orange peel,” easy to mop surface texture, suitable for offices, hallways or laboratories.

Features and benefits:

  • Seamless, without any grout lines or grooves
  • Minimal odor
  • Low volatile organic compounds (VOC)
  • Can stand up to a variety of elements including oils, grease, brake fluid, fats and even red wine!
  • Provides a wide array of chemical, abrasion and impact resistance
  • Offers a wide range of economical resinous flooring options

Where to use it:  The application of SunEpoxy can be varied to create a surface that is aggressively slip-resistant, for wet areas such as showers and food preparation areas, to an “orange peel” type of texture ideal for offices, hallways or laboratories. The addition of SunFlek quartz beads or SunChips, solid or multi-colored vinyl acrylic paint chips, will add to the texture and aesthetics of these dynamic concrete coating applications.

How it’s done:  Any of the coats of SunEpoxy can be applied with a brush or a roller. After the first bond coat is applied, a seeding of chips or quartz beads can be added if desired, to provide a decorative, slip resistant and seamless floor. To encase the effects, a second top-coat is then applied.
